•Coach: Fran Demasi (sixth season)
•Last season: 7-7-2; lost to Champlain Valley in Division I semifinals
•Key returnees: Sam Hogg, back, junior; Jake Manley, midfield, junior; Finn Rahill, midfield, senior
•Key newcomers: Too early to tell.
•Outlook: Confidence is high for the Seahorses, who bring back a lion’s share of experienced players while working with a 25-man varsity roster. “It’s a high number, but everybody knows their role on the team,” Demasi said. “We have our starting 11, but that can change week to week. I think we have a lot of balance and a lot of depth and I won’t hesitate to put someone else out there.” Hogg, a central defender, is a quiet leader who plays smart and reads the field well, while Manley’s responsibilities include midfield work and pushing forward in attack. Demasi said the plan is to play from a defensive formation and adapt, change as the game dictates.
