Madison Chagnon racked up three goals and one assist and No. 4 Burlington-Colchester pulled away from fifth-seeded Rutland for a 5-2 victory in a Division I high school girls hockey quarterfinal contest at Leddy Park on Tuesday.
Tied at 2 after two periods, Chagnon struck twice in about two minutes and then assisted Olivia Maher’s insurance tally.
Brynn Coughlin also scored and Ally Peeters corralled 31 saves for the Sealakers, who will make their first semifinal appearance since becoming a cooperative program in 2014.
Alexis Patterson and Isabel Crossman scored for Rutland and Kristen Pariseau collected 18 saves.
