Lacrosse is a fast paced, high scoring, contact sport where all players run, hit, pass, catch and score. Boys’ Lacrosse at BHS will be entering its 16th varsity season for the Spring of 2016, and has both JV and Varsity teams at the Division II level. Burlington High School Boys Lacrosse has been a team contending for a state championship in previous years. In 2007, BHS had its one and only State Championship, and in 2015 BHS was the Division II runner-up. BHS Lacrosse has also had its fair share of prestigious awards with three All-Americans (Nate Noble, Zach Drolette, and Marley Heimert), two Green and Gold Awards (Jack Breen and Clark Stephenson), and two Academic All-Americans (Thomas Kassel and Tyler Jarvis). For more awards, team history, and team statistics, check out the TEAM HISTORY PAGE.
Both Varsity and JV practice from 4-6 pm Monday – Friday at Leddy Park or on the turf. We occasionally have changes to the practice schedule which are immediately visible on the SEAHORSE LAX FACEBOOK PAGE. Game days vary, but times are typically 4-5:30 for Varsity and 5:30 – 7:00 for JV on the weekdays, and 11-12:30 for Varsity on Saturdays and 12:30-2:00 for JV. We occasionally play Varsity games under the lights – during these games, JV plays from 5:30-7:00 and Varsity from 7:00-8:30. All changes and announcements are made immediately available on the SEAHORSE LAX FACEBOOK PAGE.
The coaches and players at Burlington focus on giving all involved the most enriching experience possible. This includes: academic success, team development, transparent communication, individual growth and discovery, gamesmanship, and competitiveness. Lose without excuses and win without bragging. Burlington Lacrosse coaches and players will work together to reach each of these aspects and help the Seahorses add another banner in our gym, while maintaining our integrity across the board.
